Syd s Pink Floyd mates David Gilmour and Richard Wright produced his second (and final) solo album of new original songs. Recorded at Abbey Road, Barrett came out on Harvest in 1970-and, like all things Barrett, it was largely ignored, misunderstood and destined to be prized as a cult classic. Alternately effervescent and eerie-and featuring lots of playing by Gilmour and Wright, who tried hard to clean up Syd s ramshackle style-it includes Gigolo Aunt, Baby Lemonade, It Is Obvious, Effervescing Elephant, Wolfpack, Wined and Dined and more.
